21+The Lounge · Boudoir FAQ

Nervous? Curious? Good.

Every question about your Bemidji boudoir session, answered honestly. And if yours isn’t here, send us a message. Nothing is too weird to ask (we promise we’ve heard it).

Galleries are private by default. Nothing is ever shared without your written say-so.

The #1 question we get

"But I don't know how to pose." You don't have to.

Posing is my job. Yours is to show up and have fun.

Not a model? Perfect. Neither is almost anyone who walks through these doors. I coach you through every single pose: where your chin goes, what to do with your hands, how to arch, when to look at me and when to look away. And when words aren’t enough? I hop on the couch and show you myself.

You’ll see a few of the images on the back of the camera along the way, so you know exactly how good this is going.

  • Flattering angles for every body, every size, every age
  • Music, laughs, and a whole lot of hype
Good to know

Your questions, answered.

Posing & nerves

I've never posed before. Do I need to know what I'm doing?

Not even a little. Posing is Arica's job, not yours. She guides every pose from start to finish and will happily demo anything that's hard to picture. It isn't your job to take a pretty picture. Your job is to lean into the experience and have fun.

I'm so nervous. Is that normal?

Completely. Almost everyone is nervous for the first ten minutes, and almost everyone forgets they were nervous by the end. We'll chat, turn up the music, and ease in with looks you feel comfortable in before trying anything bolder.

Do I have to get naked or wear lingerie?

Nope. Stay cozy and covered, go full lingerie, or bare it all. Clients have shot in ball gowns, oversized button-downs, and a tank top with one of our swoon-worthy robes. You set the line, and we never push past it.

I don't feel confident enough yet. Should I wait until I lose weight or feel "ready"?

Please don't wait. Boudoir isn't about looking a certain way. It's about seeing yourself the way everyone else already does. Every body is a boudoir body, and Arica knows how to light and pose yours so you'll want to frame it.

Who is boudoir for?

Anyone 21+. Women, men, and couples, every size, shape, and age. Clients book for birthdays, anniversaries, bridal gifts, fresh starts, or simply because they want to. The best reason is "just for me."

Wardrobe & styling

What should I bring?

Our studio closet is stocked with lingerie, robes, gowns, heels, and specialty pieces, but we still ask you to bring panties in an array of colors, a few bra and panty sets, and any lingerie you're dying to wear. Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to get changed and settled.

What's in the studio closet?

Think treasure chest of confidence: corsets, body stockings, garter belts, teddies, velvet gowns, silk robes, wings, body jewelry, and specialty pieces. Plus piles (and piles) of heels and accessories to finish every look.

Sometimes the most fun is trying on something you'd never have ordered for yourself, and falling in love with the bodysuit, the lace, or the chains.

Is the closet included in my session?

Yes, with every experience. Robes, gowns, heels, wings, body jewelry, and accessories are yours to use for your looks: 1 outfit with the Flirty, 2 with the Bombshell, and unlimited with the Queen.

The Queen also includes a full wardrobe consultation, so you don't have to stress about what to wear. We style every look together.

Can I buy lingerie from the studio?

Yes! We keep a selection of lingerie and bodysuits available for purchase. Because these pieces go in, ahem, discreet places, all wardrobe purchases are final sale.

Want to try before you buy? Stop in for a wardrobe consult before your session and we'll help you pick pieces that fit, flatter, and feel amazing.

Do you do hair and makeup?

Most clients arrive hair and makeup ready. Want a little extra pampering? Add Sassy & Styled ($50) for bouncy boudoir curls or a classy pinup look, a Luxe Lash Upgrade ($25), or a Glow & Go Touch-Up ($25) when you book.

What about shoes?

We've got piles of heels in the closet, from strappy to sky-high. If you have a favorite pair, bring them along too.

Your session day

How long is a session?

It depends on your experience. The Flirty includes up to 30 minutes of guided camera time. The Bombshell is about 2 hours in studio with up to 60 minutes of shooting. The Queen is about 3.5 hours in studio with up to 2 hours of shooting, unlimited outfits, and unlimited sets.

What happens when I arrive?

You'll settle into a private prep room, get changed, and finalize your looks with Arica. Then we head to the sets you picked at your consultation, from the Romantic Suite to the VIP Lounge, and start shooting. Arica guides you the entire time.

If you're wearing pieces from the studio closet, please arrive early enough to be dressed and ready at your start time, since sessions are time-based.

Can I bring a friend or my partner?

Yes, you're welcome to bring one friend or partner for moral support (and extra hype). They're there to cheer you on, not to be in the photos. Want them in front of the camera too? Book a couples session. Adding a partner to the photos is $100, because getting two people on the same page and posing for two takes extra time and care.

Can I pick the music?

Absolutely. Bring your playlist or tell us your vibe. Pop, country, rock, or a little something sultry, whatever helps you loosen up and feel like you.

Can I have a drink?

Sure! A little bubbly or your favorite cocktail can help settle the nerves. Just bring your own (we're BYOB). Please drink responsibly and plan your ride home if you need one.

Can I take behind-the-scenes photos on my phone?

Phones stay in the lobby so every client's privacy is protected. But we love behind-the-scenes moments too! Just ask, and we'll capture a few for you without interrupting the flow of your session.

What if I'm running late?

Sessions are time-based, so late arrivals receive reduced session time. The Flirty and boudoir quickies are cancelled at more than 5 minutes late, and the Bombshell and Queen at more than 15 minutes late, with payments forfeited. Please review our studio policies before your session.

Do you photograph men and couples?

Absolutely. The Lounge is for everyone 21+. Men's sessions book into the same experiences as our women's sessions, and couples have their own page. Explore couples boudoir →

Privacy & your images

Who will see my photos?

Only you, unless you say otherwise. Galleries are private by default, and nothing is ever shared on our website or social media without your written consent.

How do I choose and receive my images?

We sit down together for your reveal to view your images and choose your favorites. Final digital images are delivered within two weeks of your session once your balance is paid in full.

Can I share my own photos?

Yes. Once paid in full, you receive a personal use license to print your images and share them on your personal social media. Please don't filter or edit them beyond a simple crop. Need extra retouching? Additional edits are available for $10 per image.

Booking & payments

Which experience should I book?

If you're torn, go bigger. The Flirty is a sweet single look, and the Bombshell gives you two. The Queen is the full experience: unlimited outfits and sets, a wardrobe consultation, 45 retouched images, and time to explore every version of you with no need to rush. Most first-timers wish they'd had more time, not less.

Compare the experiences →

How do I reserve my date?

A deposit reserves your date: $99 for the Flirty or Bombshell, $199 for the Queen. Deposits are nonrefundable. Need to reschedule? Give us at least 24 hours' notice and your deposit transfers to your new date.

Can I make payments?

Yes. After your deposit, you can make payments toward your balance anytime ($50 minimum), and payment plans are available for the Queen. Tax (8%) is added at checkout.

Can I give a boudoir session as a gift?

Bridal boudoir makes an unforgettable wedding-day gift. Tell us your wedding date when you book and we'll make sure the timing works.
